Ferry Services Between Guwahati and North Guwahati to Remain Suspended During PM Modi’s Assam Visit
The Inland Water Transport (IWT) Department has announced a temporary suspension of ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati from December 20 until 12 noon on December 21.
According to officials, ferry operations across the three main Ghats on the Brahmaputra River will remain halted due to security and logistical preparations related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Assam and the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme.
An official from the department stated that IWT personnel are actively engaged in preparations for the high-profile event. Other departmental services, including those from Charaideo, will also assist in the arrangements. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate as measures are being taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
