Fish farmers harvesting from a pond in North East India.

Aquaculture that works in the North East

We design, build, manage and connect aquaculture and fisheries enterprises. From the first resource assessment to the first consignment sold, we stay on the project.

01

Consulting that comes from field practice, not templates.

02

Technology sourced globally, made to run in North East conditions.

03

Project management from DPR through commissioning to steady state operations.

04

Market connect so that what is produced actually sells at a fair price.

Who we are, in short

A consulting and integration company for aquaculture

Living Roots Network Private Limited is headquartered in Guwahati and works across the eight States of the North East, in other parts of India, and internationally. We work with State fisheries departments, development agencies, banks, producer organisations and private promoters.

The region has water, climate and demand. What it lacks is the connective work: rigorous project design, technology that survives contact with local conditions, management that carries a project past commissioning, and market links that reward the farmer. That is the work we do.

The opportunity

A region built for aquaculture, and underbuilt for it

North East India has abundant surface water, a long growing season, strong domestic fish demand and a large deficit met by supply from outside the region. Closing that gap is a regional economic opportunity, not just a fisheries programme.

We are based here. We work here first. That means shorter response times, an understanding of terrain and logistics, and working relationships with the departments, institutions and communities who make projects work.

Collaboration

We work in partnership, not in isolation

Aquaculture development needs institutional mandate, community trust, technical depth and market reach in the same project. We work in close collaboration with the Global Association of MSMEs and the School of Livelihood and Rural Development, alongside technology partners and research institutions in India and abroad.

Global network

Local delivery, global practice

Aquaculture knowledge moves fast, and most of it is not generated in India. We maintain working relationships with institutions, technology owners, standards bodies and companies in other countries, and bring what is proven into projects here. The same relationships take our services outward, to other Indian States and to other countries.
