Nukshikala Jamir and Lemnon L Konyak to Represent the State at Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Zonal League
Mokokchung/Mon | February 26: Two women kickboxers from Nagaland namely Nukshikala Jamir of Mokokchung and Lemnon L Konyak of Mon are representing the state at the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Zonal League, being held from February 26 to March 1 in Siliguri, West Bengal.
According to a press release issued by the Nagaland Association Kickboxing Organisation (NAKO), the athletes are competing under its banner and are accompanied by Mongsen Longkumer, coach, NAKO, and Alemtemsu Longchar, general secretary, NAKO.
The East Zone league features teams from 11 states and offers a total cash prize of ₹11.66 lakh, adding to the competitive significance of the tournament.
The release also highlights recent achievements by Naga men kickboxers under NAKO, who have secured five medals in earlier competitions— one gold, two silver and one bronze along with a fourth-place finish, bringing laurels to the state.
NAKO states that its sustained participation at both national and international levels continues to help athletes earn medals and contributes to the steady growth of kickboxing in Nagaland.
