No Foul Play Suspected So Far in Zubeen Garg Death Case: Singapore Police

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has clarified that no foul play has been detected so far in the death of acclaimed singer Zubeen Garg, even as investigations continue under Singapore law. The clarification comes amid online speculation and media reports in India regarding the case.

In an official statement issued on December 18, 2025, the SPF said it is aware of public discussions and reports stating that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in India has filed murder charges against four individuals in connection with Mr Garg’s death. However, Singapore Police emphasised that their own investigation is ongoing and being conducted in accordance with the Singapore Coroners Act, 2010.

Based on findings till date, the SPF stated that it does not suspect any foul play in the incident. Upon completion of the investigation, the findings will be submitted to the State Coroner in Singapore, who will conduct a Coroner’s Inquiry (CI) — a formal fact-finding process to determine the exact cause and circumstances of death. The CI is currently scheduled to take place in January and February 2026, and its findings will be made public upon conclusion.

The Singapore Police Force reiterated its commitment to carrying out a thorough and professional investigation and appealed to the public to remain patient and refrain from spreading unverified information while the legal process continues.
