Living Roots Network Private Limited is an aquaculture development consulting and integration company headquartered in Guwahati, Assam.
We work with governments, development agencies, financial institutions, producer organisations, cooperatives, enterprises and private promoters to design, build, manage and commercially connect aquaculture and fisheries enterprises.
The North Eastern Region of India is our primary focus, across all eight States. We also take assignments in other States and Union Territories of India, and internationally.
What we changed, and why
Living Roots Network began as a media and communications company covering North East India. That work put us in front of the region’s development story: what gets announced, what gets built, and the distance between the two. Fisheries and aquaculture came up again and again as a sector with real demand, real water, real schemes and real money, and a persistent shortage of the technical and management capacity that turns those into working enterprises.
We decided to work on the problem rather than report it. The company’s objectives have been formally revised, and Living Roots Network now operates as an aquaculture development consultancy and technology integrator.
Our objectives
- Build aquaculture capability in the North East, making the region’s fisheries sector productive, commercially viable and climate resilient.
- Integrate technology rather than merely advise on it, adapting proven systems from India and abroad to North East conditions, budgets and skill levels.
- Deliver end to end project management, from DPR and financial linkage through construction, commissioning and operations, so that projects reach designed output and not merely built infrastructure.
- Connect production to markets through aggregation, quality, traceability, branding and buyer linkage.
- Institutionalise producers into organisations, companies, cooperatives and clusters with shared infrastructure.
- Bring global best practice in, and take our services out to other States and other countries.
- Anchor sustainability in every project, designed for water efficiency, low environmental load, circular use of waste, biodiversity protection and measurable climate benefit.
How we are set up
We work through a small core team of aquaculture, project and market specialists, extended by a network of partner institutions, specialist advisors and technology providers. That structure lets us hold long term responsibility for a project without carrying overhead that a client ends up paying for.
