Dinesh Goswami Flyover Inaugurated in Guwahati, Boosting Urban Connectivity

Guwahati | March 2026

A new flyover named after former Union Minister Dinesh Goswami has been inaugurated in Guwahati, adding to the city’s expanding urban infrastructure and expected to ease traffic movement in a key area.

The 1.2-kilometre-long flyover, built at an estimated cost of around ₹100 crore, has been developed to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion along one of Guwahati’s busy routes.

Officials said the project forms part of ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening urban connectivity and modernizing road infrastructure in the rapidly growing city.

The structure has been named in honour of Dinesh Goswami, who served as a Union Minister and was regarded as an influential political figure from Assam.

Authorities believe the flyover will contribute to smoother traffic movement, reduced travel time, and improved connectivity, benefiting commuters and residents across Guwahati.
